Adobe will offer its 99U conference as a free digital experience for all
The Adobe 99U Conference is a one-of-a-kind live experience that inspires creative professionals to bring their ideas to life and shape the future of the industry. The usually ticketed, in-person event has been held annually in New York City for the past 11 years. In light of the COVID-19 health crisis, however, Adobe has announced that it will be moving the event online for 2020, and has invited every creative in the world to join for free.
It may come as no surprise that the event will be digitised due to restrictions on large gatherings and the imposition of social distancing rules; but it is surprising that the event will be free for everybody, given that tickets can cost upwards of US$1,000.
The conference is scheduled to kick off on June 17, live on the Behance platform, and will feature keynote presentations, creative workshops and master classes. Speakers will include Alain Sylvain (Founder and CEO, Sylvain Labs), John S. Couch (VP, Product Design, Hulu), and Kelli Anderson (Designer and Paper Engineer). A detailed agenda is expected to be posted soon.
This year’s conference will explore the question, “What does it mean to be a creative?” and calls on creative professionals to think about “how to establish our purpose, nurture our talent, and define success on our own terms.”
